It's that time of year again... 🐣CHICKEN HATCHING!!! This year we have 36 eggs in the incubator! We are expecting around 30 chickens to hatch throughout the rest of the week.
Mrs. Barker has 10 fertilized eggs that have begun hatching today and will continue to hatch throughout tomorrow!
I have 10-22 fertilized eggs. Half should hatch today/tomorrow and the other half should hatch Thursday/Friday. I have two sets of chickens put into the incubator on different days.
We are very excited for our chickens! Feel free to share the live streams! Below are links to our YouTube channels so if the stream ends for whatever reason you have access to the latest video! We will be leaving the live stream active 24/7 the rest of the week!

Our 7th Grader, Amaia Moses, was selected as one of Starlight Theater's 2025 Vincent Legacy Scholarship Recipient. She is one of five chosen from the KC Metro. Amaia is the first recipient from USD 204 to receive this scholarship. Congratulations Amaia!
The scholarship helps BIPOC youth middle school students with funds to pursue professional training and experience the life-expanding possibilities of the performing arts. To qualify, students in sixth, seventh and eighth grade must display talent and passion for the performing arts, have strong interest in community support, and audition for the selection committee at Starlight. The funds are applied to their middle and high school years.

Part 2: Celebrating Read Across America week, CMS students celebrated with Dr. Suess with our Book Buddies at McDaniel-always a favorite with students. We also dressed as our favorite book characters and spent a little time reading with a sibling.
